Identifying a Fiesta Engine? - help
Hello,
Can anyone help me identify an engine that I bought very cheaply? I think it is a MK1 XR2 engine, well I hope! It has an engine code as follows: 771M-6015-CA. It also has a twin Webber carb that I believe was only on 1.3 or the 1.6 XR2 engine. Any help appreciated. Thanks Luke Last edited by LukeH; 11-03-2004 at 06:30 AM. |

Problem solved!!
I took the rocker cover off and found the stamp with the numbers 37 which according to Haynes manual is an XR2. Thanks to mechy1barry for the post. Luke. |

771 is the designation for US spec Fiestas. The XR2 was never sold in the US. It sounds like you have a US spec 1600 that has been retrofitted with an XR2 head. XR2s also had a higher compression so it would be interesting if the pistons have been replaced as well.
