Question Oil Warning Light

When I come to a stop light after my truck has been warmed up and has run for about 10 minutes the oil warning light blinks on and off rapidly. It only happens in gear, if I put it in neutral or park it immediately goes out. A couple of times while stopped the oil pressure gauge dropped and the engine idle speed dropped also. Is this an oil pressure switch problem or some other sensor? It is a 95 Dakota automatic V8 5.2 Liter 4 wheel drive with 93,000 miles on it.

Re: Oil Warning Light

Oil pressure switch problem or some other sensor? Maybe it's actually the engine messing up and the sensors are doing what they're supposed to do by warning you!

Check oil level , if it's low your going to uncover the oil pick up in the pan when the truck slows for a light or fast stop. The oil sloshes forward. This will make it draw air and light goes on with gauge dropping. When you put it in neutral, the motor idles higher and forces alittle more oil up into the motor and light stays off.
