Angry Man Oh Man!

About 4 weeks ago the check engine light came on my 96 Windstar and it was running like crap shaking misfiring so I took it into my Mechanic and the codes pointed to the upper intake gasket which costed about $250. So then the light came on again a week later running like crap, took it back the code pointed to a misfire on the number 4 cylinder but he says he can't figure it out, he doesn't charge me for anything, and suggests I take it to the Dealer, so then the dealer says that the pcm has to be reprogramed and only charges me for diagnostics. A week goes buy and the light comes back on and starts running like crap again this time they say the cam shaft timing is off cost me $180 and says this should fix the problem. Last week on Good Friday light comes on again and the shaking starts again, I take it back pissed off and I say what the f*#k is going on are you guys jacking me around here, so I leave it and get a phone call like six hours later saying its the lower intake manifold which has a crack and is going to cost around $700 bucks for the part but he says he won't charge me for the labor. So I call my mechanic and get his opinon and he says go ahead and let them fix it because he would have to charge me for the part and labor. What do you think am I getting f*#ck around here or what.

If that repair does the trick consider yourself lucky. I heard of people paying close to 1200 dollars for that same job.

Re: Man Oh Man!

I know it's been over a month since you first posted this thread, but I would like to know what happened, as it sounds similar to a problem I am currently having.
