Re: fuel injuection or transmission ???

OK have it your way you are the only one in the world that is right and my boss at the time is the biggest dummy and the vb bolts were not loose when I went in and retorqued them. That must be the night I was dreaming. So sorry to disagree

Re: fuel injuection or transmission ???

It's hard to "compress the gasket" when it's a thin metal sheet.

I did not say you were wrong, or misleading. Only that it's not required under normal circumstances. Since this is routine for me I'm supprised you are so offended. I do find loose bolts from time to time, but I would not call it common at all.

Re: fuel injuection or transmission ???

ModMech I did react very wrongly but as I said I bought a 94 TB when the customer did not want to pay for a rebuild because it would drop out of gear. I put a shift kit in it and the problem went away for a while (one week) so we pulled the pan and I had to turn all but one bolt at least one quarter turn to get them back up to torque specs and we've never had another problem. The tran only had 90,000 on it so I took the chance instead of rebuilding it. You are correct about that transmission being very good. Again I am sorry for the way I came back.
