Convert rear brakes from drum to disc?

Anyone do this with the 15 inch factory steel wheels?

Well if you haven't found help with this in the after market, and you have slight fabrication skills(welding, cutting) you could start at a salvage a pirate the discs off the front of another lumina(so the bolt pattern is the same) or any vehicle with the same bolt pattern. Remove the drum brakes completely. Put the disc on the hub and put a few bolts on to hold it in place. Now take the calipers while still mounted to the bracket that held it in place on the other vehicle. Slide the calipers on the disc until its where it was previously on the donor vehicle. Now the bracket probably bolted on so just look where the holes are, maybe you will be lucky and be able to slightly mod, the drum bolt holes probably not. So take a piece of quarter inch plate steel. start by cutting it to fit snugly against the axle so you can weld or bolt it in place. then drill the holes for the brake's bracket and bolt it up. You might have to tweak the porportioning of the brakes since the discs will take a different amount of pressure than the drums. Maybe not, if your lucky. But thats my suggestion, I am currently starting that same procedure on a old ass Eaton 1 ton axle for my bronco 2, other wise the damn drums on it won't even let 16.5 wheels on it. good luck, hope it helps.

Go to the junkyard and look at a Buick Regal they are the same body so most parts would bolt up just fine!

I dont know what year your Lumina is because i didnt really see it in the open but my 92 Lumina HAS 4 wheel disc brakes, a good idea would be to get the whole disc brake assembly from the rear end of another Lumina and rig it into yours. My Discs and calipers are slightly smaller on the rear then they are in the front and i know they fit nicely under the 15 inch factory rims. look into it.

The 95 Luminas were DIFFERENT from the 92s.

95-97 (maybe longer) Luminas/Monte Carlos were considered GENERATION 1.5 W-body cars. What you could do is find a Monte Carlo from 95-97 that had disc brakes, and do a swap like from that car. A buick regal may also work, but I am not sure.
