Putting a 400 into a 1980 Firebird
I have a 1980 firebird now with a 301 and a T350 tranny, Im wanting to put a mid 70's 400 with a T400 tranny into it. Will all of the engine mounts and tranny mounts line up? and is there anything else that I will need to do? any help is much appreciated

your 350 t should bolt up to as well.. the less belts running = less strain on your motor= more hp.

well it dosent have ac so the only other thing to bypass is the smog pump which ill take apart and then just leave the pully to spin freely

i would just bypass that pully all together there pretty cheep for a bypass belt i think they were like 4 dollars a piece less pullys running he better pluss smaller belts are better as well. let me know how this process works out

i will
but the pump still needs to spin cause if air care inspects the engine compartment i will fail it on the spot and i just hate aircare cause if u dont got the cats and that stuff it dosent matter what comes out the tail pipes you still fail |
