HW Viper Help

Hey guys i've been browsing the forums for a long time, and have just recently gotten into customizing my 1/18s. i got some spiffy wheels to put on my viper gts-r (the 03 concept), but am having a helluva time getting the rear axle off

the front came off super easy, but i cannot for the life of me get the rear wheels off.
I figured if i popped off the body i could take my dremel and just cut the axle and then each side owuld pop out, but i can't get the front part of the body off!! GRRRR

Any Help is greatly appriciated!
Tim

heres how it is Tim. The axles found on the rear of all the new Hot Wheels cars are basicly a single metal rod that fits into a hole in the rims that is just a little too small. The metal has little grippy pieces pressed into it that help it keep a grip on the plastic. Usually you can get one wheel off by twisting the rims and pulling on them at the same time.

If you do get one wheel off you will need to hold the axle in a VERY strong clamp. Then of course your new rims have to fit on the old axle... Getting a suitable axle can be a nightmare.

Of course if you cant get a wheel off (like in the case of my Hot Wheels Saleen S7) you will either have to take a dremel too it or just let it be.

Now about the front end. I am assuming you have ALL the screws out. Make sure there aren't any "hidden" screws placed under popout panels. Usually if you still can slide it out its probably the steering column that is holding it in place. Try to pull the steering wheel back away from the front axle while pulling on the front end. It may take some force.
