Aluminum 3S-GTE blocks!!

Now I have your attention... Anyone make em?

I'm not a big fan of iron... We've come too far in technology to use the same material in our 200hp engines as we do to make.... things that are ancient and iron and not complicated (damn... lack of words.)

+ aluminum is lighter

aluminum is lighter yes, but steel is more efficiant and durable.

steel and iron... thers a difference..

I thought the 3s-gte's block is iron... and i don't think the block will blow up or bend if it were to be made with aluminum with reinforcements in the right places

so no one makes em?

All iron blocks in my experience last an eternity. Aluminum engines die fast. I guess that's why the piece of shit Ford Taurus' Vulcan engine will last so damn long (some report 400k damn!), what about SR20DET? What about skyline? What about Supra? What about the mr2? ALSO iron? And it lasts long if im not mistaken. All aluminum engines on the other hand (some most.. whatever) are 'squeezed' to run a certain way and wouldn't last as long.. just my opinion and experience or what it seems to be anyways probably not true always but..

Aluminum is a great heat conductor :/ I dunno :/
