98 Stalls in driveway on start up

180k miles and occasionally the van will start but stall before I can get it into gear. It never stalls once I'm on the road and driving. Seems to happen more first thing when its cold. Any suggestions on what to look at first?

this duplicates the behaviour of my 3.8 when I forget to switch off the "temperature corrector" I have installed to make the computer believe the engine is warmer than it is....With my "corrector" on (this is a bypass resistor), computer reads engine temp as 80F minimum....and it will either not start or stall after startup if actual engine temperature is below ,say, 30F, the lower the worst. So....I would at least verify for a faulty temperature sensor or shorted wiring....Here are the readings:

..and...my trick is that it really boosts the fuel mileage when short trips prevent engine from reaching normal temperatures. In low temps starting with engine cold, corrector is switched OFF, engine starts readily, and 30 secs. later, engaging corrector leans the mixture and the engine will keep going without problem.
ONce engine is warm, its actual temp reading makes the tricky correction useless.

I'm in Jawga so when said cold I meant cold engine. Temps here haven't dipped below 50 at night and its been doing this since summer.
