Unhappy accelerator not responding

Hey y'all! This morning I was driving to work in my 2000 honda accord when all of a sudden the accelerator would not respond to my foot pressure. There was nothing else wierd that happened- no noises or flashing lights or anything. I pulled over, waited a minute, then tried the car again. The accelerator worked, and I was able to get to work. This exact thing also happened to me about two weeks ago also on a Mon morning. At that time, I just thought it was a fluke. I called the dealership, and the mechanic said he never heard of such a thing. What do y'all think? Have you ever had an experience like this? (This is the first time I have ever had a problem with my car!!) Thank you guys!!!! nathalie

Re: accelerator not responding

I know they will go into limp mode and won't rev over 3000 rpm or so if they lose a signal from one of the cam or crank sensors...was it something like that, or just fell to idle and wouldn't respond?

Limp mode should light the CEL though...

Re: accelerator not responding

you should have it checked for computer codes... i don't know much about the computers in the hondas (used to domestic ecu's) there may be some hidden codes
