92 diamante TCM
i've got a 92 diamante DOHC. it's having some transmission problems and things seem to point in the electrical direction. i've read on some sites that there is a TCM but on other sites i've read that the trans controller is built into the main ECU, which makes since considering NAPA carries a computer specifically for the car with traction control. does anyone know for sure??

Re: 92 diamante TCM
the diamante does not have a tcm, it is connected with the ecu, just so you know diamantes are know for electrical problems. The newers ones might have the tcm but the year you have shouldnt

The first generation Diamantes do have a Transmision Control Unit (TCU/TCM). The TCU is located on the floor, underneath the the radio and a/c controls and against the fire wall. Like the ECU, the TCU has similar failures due to the capacitators leaking on the circutry board. In addition, like the ECU, you can pull any fault codes for your tranmission which are stored on the TCU. www.diamanteowners.com Hope this helps TG |
