Help with window replacement

I need some help. I have a 2000 s-10 Blazer..I locked my keys in it..the spare wasn't there etc...well rather than call the locksmith (I was on a canoe trip and no one was close) I decided to break the small traingle shapped window on the back passenger side of my truck. It's a 4 door..what I need to know is how is the best way to replace it...do I just get a whole new window or do I try and just replace the triangle one...getting the used window is easy..not sure on how to go about installing it..I would appreciate any help.

Personally - I would take it to a glass shop to have that window put in. Messing with glass is such a pain in the rear. The shop will have the proper seals and will warranty their work if it leaks. Cannot say that if you did it on your own. Since you already have the glass, (or can so easily get it) the shop will most likely only charge you their flat labor rate - it should not take more than an hour. Also, if you have comp/collision, many glassworks can get the work done without a single penny charged out of pocket.

I have seen local guys swap the windshield glass in my '84 Oldsmobile in just half an hour, and that involved dismantling a lot of chrome, wipers, and smashing the old window out with an air hammer and gloves.

My official word is: Take it to the pros. You will be very satisfied if you did.

Thanks so much for the advice...I actualy called Visions and they wanted to charge me 390 dollars..I laughed and then politley said no...I did get the window 50 dollars was the cheapest..and I know a guy who has a shop who I actualy bought my old car from and he's going to replace it for a small fee...(I decided this after the guy at the salvage yard said it was a pain the the rear)...about the same price all together as the locksmith would have been! thanks so much!
