330ci qs.. more of course :)

Hello all,

Have some more random questions on the 330ci.

Will it run on regular and medium octane, or just premium? Not sure if the engine is tuned for 91/92 oct or if you can go lower.

Where's the oil filter located? hard to reach? Standard 3-5k mile oil change or different?

For the sport package, what is a standard price for replacing the tires when the tread wears down? $300 tire?

Any problems with the 2 cup holders next to the parking break?

Is there a site that lists aftermarket options for the 3 series?

Thanks,

PCH

Yes it will run, but I wouldn't go lower than 89 if I could help it. Oil filter is easy to reach. The car will tell you when it needs a oil change typically 6k miles. Tires can depend on what you want in a tire. You can find 75-100$ Kumohs that will do the job, or you can get really nice $200 tires. Problems with the cup holders... hrm, don't know about the E46 but on the E36 THEY SUCK... they are just a hair too small to hold just about anything. Hopefully they fixed this on the E46.

Aftermarket: what are you looking for, accessories, rice-cessories, performance, ???

as far as accessories..

1. radar detector
2. lockbox or something for the trunk
3. different side mirrors or tinting to keep headlight glare down (lot of driving at night and being low with suv's behind gets annoying).
4. CD changer

Radar detector: The only one to get Valentine One (www.valentineone.com)
Lockbox or someting for the trunk: Just lock the trunk, if they are going to get into the car they are either going to be able to get into the lockbox, take the lock box, or take the whole car with the lockbox in it. I would worry about protecting my car and not leave alot of valuables in the car.
Side Mirrors:.... uh just tilt them down, and drive faster than everyone else.
CD Changer: Factory one $600 (6 disc) or call Crutchfield, I got a 12 disc Pioneer and a adapter to make it work with the factory controls form $350.

my friend has that radar detector.. ugly but seems to work Have to give it line of sight front and back too.

For that cd player / adapter... does it still run through the bmw setup, or some type of rf bypass?

$600 for a bmw 6 disk is lame. I'll have to look into that pioneer setup!

Thanks,

PCH
