Spark plug cable problem
First of all, i just wanted to say hello as I have never posted on this forum. I've read quite a few topics already and you guys seem very knowlegeable and can hopefully give me some insight on my problem.
A long time ago my step dad took out my 84 Fiero S/E (wasn't mine at the time), and overheated the engine. Unfortunately, he overheated the engine to the point that he melted the spark plug cables onto the bottom of the spark plug, where the nut connects with the engine block. I managed to get two of the plugs out by digging and scrapping away all the gunk, but can't get the last two out. Are there any cleaners or solutions that I could spray onto the plugs to dissolve or loosen the rubber in order to get the plugs out? |

Re: Spark plug cable problem
I've had that happen, but not to that same extent. You may have to cut the cables and boots away as much as you can, then scrape around the perimeter of the plug with a flat blade until you can get a socket on it. The pugs I removed didn't look all that good, either:
