Need advice on modding exhaust on 2000 TA

So just get the heads and TB ported rather than replacing them. Do you know about how much that would cost?

I had planned to get SLP’s cold air package but if you don’t think that would be wise, what induction system would you recommend?

Bolt ons seems to be a fairly generic term with widely varying definitions. If you are simply saying “K.I.S.S.” (Keep It Simple Stupid) I can definitely respect that as I am concerned about biting off more than I can chew.

I'd say stick to headers and intake first. I have a K&N intake but there are a few more out there to choose from. You can also replace your intake elbow.. trickflow makes one of those... and you can get an airfoil for your tb....

As far as I can tell there is no air foil for the LS series engines. The LTs TB has two side by side openings, the air foil goes between them to smooth out air flow. The TB on the LS engines has only one opening. I have however heard mention of TB spacers, would that be a worthwhile investment?

As for the intake system, the Volant Cold Air Induction kit look promising. http://www.lmperformance.com/2387/1.html My car did not come with the factory ram air kit, will these kits have everything I need to upgrade from the “normal” non ram air system?

No LS1 f-bodies came with 'true ram-air'. They all have intake lids that take in air from the bottom of the car. I don't think any actually took in air from the hood nostrils straight into the engine. There are, however, kits to actually do that, but none came that way from the factory.

As far as TB spacers, worthless. Send me your money if you plan on getting one.

As far as intake, just get a lid. There are many brands out there and all give about the same gains. Plus, they are cheaper than those cold-air kits.

Or, you could always do the free ram air mod. I heard its pretty simple to do.

yup, and that's about all they did...they milked gm and now are sitting back thinking they are king tut.... past that they are a bunch of assholes with shotty products. Myself, as well as many other members have had problems with SLP and they just tell you "HA, YOUR PROBLEM NOT OURS"

I don't care what you say, if a company can't stand behind their product what good is their product?
