z32 summer show car
Hows it going with the room? i am waiting to get the chance to get the 300zx when the time gets there the choice of my car would be the 2+2 t top 300zx i would have my doubts as using the car as a show car cause it can be risky around the wrong people but what i want to know is if one can put a 300zx convertible trunk on the car and put a snap on fabric rear window roof to make the car a convertible-like 2+2 300zx idea thought from (dont know anyone who owns this car) http://www.picknowl.com.au/homepages/zimmo/300zx.html
tell me your thoughts thanks again streetsailor |

another thing that concerns me about the body project is if one can do any custom made work on the 2+2 rear window by rolling it down sliding it, pulling it open, etc.

anything can be done if you have the right amount of money. i have never ever heard of anyone doing this. to me it sounds like tons and tons of fabricating (since there is no "kits" for this) and tons and tons of money.

i dont know if i read it right or not but i think u want to turn a 2+2 300zx into a convertible?
Well if so, i remeber seeing an acura nsx that was converted into a convertible and it cost 20k. So it will be alot of money/time to make it a convertible. I think there is a little more than just slapping on a convertible top but who knows im no car designer. but if ya do it, that will be something new!!!! at least to me anyways. |

Re: z32 summer show car
damn, 1via doesn't like this idea. i don't like it that much, but it would be kind of cool to say i have a 2+2 convertible. one thing bad about it, you would loose a lot of structual rigidy by taking off the roof. most car companies add more rigid materials to the car transforming to from a coupe to a convertible, so i would also think about that.

Re: z32 summer show car
What about a Two-Plus-Two Slicks?
... Now thats a summer project right there. Sleek lines of a Two-Plus-Two... With my favorite part of Zeds. Slicktops. What your talking about doing is going to be stepping right next to impossible... Now keep in mind anything is possible in the world of body work. But you have to take into consideration structural integrity that you will be ultimately questioning by cutting the upper half of the car off... I've seen cars "total themselves" just by having a SUN ROOF installed... And what your talking about... Damn, I wouldnt even take on the project. You would have to re-enforce the living HELL out of the chassis, build a rear roll cage so the frame has something to hold onto... Otherwise... You get the idea... -Wes
