Lost ABS

I replaced the Brake master cylinder some time back and one morning the brake pedal went to the floor. The brake line going to the front wheels wasn't tight enough and leaked out fluid so I tightened it, refilled the reservoir, bled air off and everything was OK except the ABS light is On and I have no ABS..
Any ideas?

Re: Lost ABS

Chris, sounds like air trapped in the abs unit. Check the bleeding method, newer units need a scanner to do this.

Re: Lost ABS

The FSM keeps referring to the Tech 1 Scan Tool....guess I need to be on the lookout for one before they're gone.

Re: Lost ABS

Keep in mind that a Snap On MT2500 with the appropriate modules can do the same thing, which may expand the options a bit. That was valid at least up to 2002 for most models, and later on some.
