Battery replacement in 2017 CTS require a memory saver?

I will need to replace the battery in a 2017 CTS Luxury soon, does this require a memory saver to be plugged in to save computer settings? I wouldn't think so but a friend suggested it. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that would save the memory in the pcm, and some other modules.

^^ Truth,

Some of those "other modules" would be the BCMs (all of them), the gateway module, which handles everything from the OnStar to the home link to the entertainment center, and the TCM.
