2013 Transit connect alternator

I have a 2013 Transit connect, and I think the alternator and battery went bad at the same time. I looked into replacing it myself, but I saw that the front passenger side axle has to be removed. I want to know if there is a way to replace it without having to completely disassemble the vehicle. Any tips or info is greatly appreciated before I have to pay lord knows how much at the shop.

Google the question, I am sure there are videos about the procedure.
