I did an engine swap in a 87 s10 i put a v6 vortec out of an astro. It was running but not well. it would idle fine but when you stepped on the gas it would die. Did some tuning with timing light didn't help. Swapped comp and all that any ideas? Would i have to change the fuel pump or would the one on the s10 work?

What year Astro did you pull the engine from? What injection method is it - TBI, CPI...?
If it was CPI, your fuel pump won't put out near enough and you will need to replace it (CPI requires 55-60 psi). I don't think it's a CPI or you wouldn't have enough pressure to even get 'er started.
If it's TBI, you need 9-14 psi and I don't think a pump for a carb puts out enough, either (usually 4-5 psi, I think), so you'd have to change the pump in that case, as well.
