Alright guys, bought the car "rebuilt" knowing the airbag system was deployed and in a front left accident. Appeared to be just the drivers airbag, module, and sensors.

So what i did was: Replaced both front Airbag sensors, (part numbers matched), Replaced drivers airbag, replaced module with used non deployed one, now i know the pass airbag is good checked it myself, and i ended up replacing both seatbelts.

Now this is my issue, brought it into a shop with a scan tool because the light was still on. They said it was the right front sensor, so they switched the two front around and it was still the front right sensor. So both sensors are good. Now they found a wire short, and fixed that, still showing front right sensor, they did an impedence test on the wiring all checked out 100%, however still showing bad front right sensor. They said its the module, SO i bought another module pluged it in still bad front right sensor.

Can ANYONE solve this problem, i would greatly appreciate it, i just want that light off my radio and dash! and safety peace of mind aswell!:runaround:

Alright guys listen to this I woke up one mourning and logically thought about this... Ended up checking the work that was done by the shop and sure enough when they fixed the wiring they reversed the wires... i fixed this went back to the shop showed the 30yr expirenced mechanic what he did wrong, then they scanned it again, no current codes at all!! Fixed that porblem, however, there are history codes, they cannot clear these codes... Airbag light is still on however, last night by buddy was in the front pass seat and for the first time i saw the passenger airbag light go "ON"??? how is this possible with the airbag light on? How do i reset the light? both my modules when plugged in say the exact same history codes.

Just a possiblity. I have a 2008 Malibu that had the air bag light on after only a few thousand miles. I found on my own the connector wiring under the passenger seat had been "pinched" / bent and depending on the placement of the seat it would come on or stay off. Was thinking maybe with the "rebuilt" status you might want to check the connectors under the seat? Just a thought. I was able to wiggle mine and got it to go off, then fixed the pinch. (had warranty, just did not want to make the appointment right away)

Thank you for your reply! However, this was the first thing i did, b.c at first i thought the module under the seat was the one i needed to replace, so ive already unplugged those and moved the wires around, also to take out the module u pretty much have to take the seat off. But thank you for the suggestion i will deffinietly double check that! Its worth a try.
