Step By Step Instructions to Replace 98 Intrigue Transmission?

I am going to have to replace the transmission on my 98 Intrigue, does anyone have the step by step instructions on how to do that?

I would find a shop they may do the work for $350 it will be the best $350 you will spend. Unless you have the tools the lift and the knowledge Leave it to the pros

Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement in Powertrain Management.
Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture.
Remove the engine mount strut. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement in Engine.
Disconnect the wiring harness (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/82445567) connectors from the transaxle. Refer to Harness Routing Views in Powertrain Management.
Disconnect the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the PNP switch (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/96340439/56197243). Refer to A/T Range Selector Cable Replacement.
Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable bracket with cable from transaxle. Refer to A/T Range Selector Cable Bracket Replacement.
Remove the PNP switch (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/96340439/56197243). Refer to PNP Switch Replacement.
Remove the fluid filler tube. Refer to Fluid Filler Tube Replacement. Important: The transaxle/engine bolts must be returned to their original position. The bolt installed in position number (5) is two millimeters shorter then the other transaxle/engine bolts and requires the use of thread sealant. The bolt installed in position number (3) has a special pilot point.
Remove the upper transaxle bolts.
Remove the wiring harness (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/82445567) grounds.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
Remove the front tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.
Remove the engine splash shields. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body and Frame.
Remove both tie rod ends from the steering knuckles. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
Remove the power steering gear from the frame. Refer to Power Steering Gear Replacement in Steering and Suspension.
Use wire to secure the power steering gear to the vehicle.
Remove the power steering cooler line clamps from the frame.
Remove the engine mount lower nuts. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement (Front) and Engine Mount Replacement (Rear) in Engine.
Remove the lower ball joints from the steering knuckles. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement in Steering and Suspension.

Drain the transaxle fluid.
Disconnect the transaxle oil cooler hoses from the transaxle. Refer to A/T Oil Cooler Hose Replacement.
Disconnect the drive axles from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement (Left) and Wheel Drive Shafts Replacement (Right) in Drive Axle.
Secure the drive axles to the steering knuckle and struts.
Disconnect the wheel speed sensors wiring harness (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/82445567) connectors. Refer to Wheel Speed Sensor Jumper Harness Replacement (Front) in Brakes and Traction Control.
Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor wiring harness (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/82445567) connector. Refer to Vehicle Speed Sensor Replacement.
Use the transaxle table to support the transaxle and frame.
Remove the right (rear) engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement (Rear).
Remove the right (rear) engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement (Rear).
Remove the transaxle brace. Refer to A/T Brace Replacement.

Remove the lower transaxle bolts.
Remove the frame to body bolts.
Separate the engine from the transmission.
Lower the transaxle and frame from the vehicle.
Remove the transaxle from the frame to the bench.
Refer to Transmission Overhaul for the inspection procedure and for the overhaul procedure.
Use the J 35944-A or equivalent to flush the following components whenever the transaxle is removed for overhaul or whenever the torque converter (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/56227763) pump or the case (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V19055446~C33139~R0~OD~N/0/70910848/78153934/78153980/78153982/34853741/34860071/34860072/56222150) is replaced:




Flush the transaxle oil cooler(s).
Flush the hoses.
Flush the pipes.
Refer to A/T Oil Cooler Flushing.

Curious where you get this figure. Book time is around 10 hours. If you can get someone to do this for $350, they probably don't know what they are doing. Something as simple as putting the engine to transmission mounting bolts in the wrong place can end up cracking the block.
