Hi!
Almost a year ago I wrote about a problem that I was having with my transmission (here's the original thread http://www.automotiveforums.com/t943652-1995_park_avenue_transmission.html ) so later that week I got a tranny flush like I said I was gonna do and it didn't get any better or any worse after driving it for a bit so I decided to just leave it. It's been almost a year now and it hasn't got any worse so i'm thinking that maybe it's supposed to be like that on this car not really sure. Can't remember it doing that when I first bought the car thats why i thought something could be wrong...

I think what you are experiencing is the TCC unlock and TCC reapply... What will happen when you let your foot off the accelerator is the PCM can and or will unlock the TCC, and as you get back on it a little the PCM will then reapply the TCC... The Clutch will generally apply in 3-7 seconds on a 95.. This can also happen in third gear..
You may not have any problems at all, I do think this is what you are experiencing and its not an actual shift..

You can look at the tach and tell when the convertor locks up. There will be a slight drop in rpms.
BTW, is it the original transmission? and how many miles do you have on it now. Mines is original with 163,000 miles and has been shifting the same since I got it 54,000 miles ago.
I have a mix of vavoline max life dex III and super-tech dex VI and It's been 1qt over for about 2 years
Anyone else with an original 4t60E trans with 150k+

As far as I know it's the original transmission and it has exactly 177500k. I bought it with 102k so I've put on bout 75k on it myself. I got a tranny flush when I bought it and again about a year ago. It has super-tech fluid in it right now.

I have 185,000 On my original trans in my 95 Bonneville.. Still shifts good most of the time( a little clunky sometimes ) and hits Lock Up good... My friend has 220,000 on his 91 Park Ave, original Trans..
However I have noticed the trans is tired, the Clunky shifts and the once in a blue moon Opps I hit 2nd gear and slipped tells me its time to swap it out... I have an SRTA Hydramatic sitting here waiting to go into duty moving the 95 Bonneville...lol

Just a little concerned. When I go to the junkyard The H-body cars I see with the 4t60E transmission seem to Have 142k-175k on them and I assume most of them meet their death due to trans faliure. A few with 200k-220k. On the other hand the Chevy luminas with the 4t60E seem to all have 200k+. Maybe torque diffrence between the 3.1 and the 3800? :dunno:
Anyways I have a lot of little annoyances with my park avenue right now. Master cylinder leaking, Both trans cooler lines leaking, Lower radiator hose leaking from radiator connection, upper heater core hose seems to be leaking (slight wet residue), also my lower intake manifold gasket I think is leaking or weeping, I saw a tiny green droplet on the edge of the gasket when working on the car. With three coolant leaks not my coolant isn't dropping fast at all so I'm in moniter mode now. Owe and I changed a leaking power steering hose last week was leaking pretty bad to the point that I thought my oil filter housing was leaking.
And to top it of I get a P0341 & P0342(cam sensor faliure) code every few days. :nutkick:
Ok done ranting.

Hey Jrs3800.. I looked up what a TCC was cause I didn't really know what it was. When I first wrote about this problem I thought it was shiffting into 3rd when i would ease off the pedal and then accelerate again.. but you're right it doesn't. The rpm's just go up a bit and it feels like it's slipping then rpm's go back down.. Mines seems to take bout 3 secs to reapply the TCC.. Seems to take longer for it to reapply the faster I'm going or the harder I accelerate... Btw Is that 185000 km or miles on your bonneville tranny?? Thx :smokin:
