93 f150 transfer case control'

this morning when i pressed the 4x4 button on 93 F150 i got a relay click. No light,no engage. determined via test light that the shift motorwas getting proper power but not engaging. Stupid me, i manually shifted the lever on the back of the case with actuator removed to 4hi to get to the salvage yard to get the new one.(snow on the ground)... apparently this was a mistake!!! Got down the road 4whell drive disengages. pulled over. crawled under to switch back to 2wd but the only gear i could catch was 4lo. got me home. Finally got the actuator motor from boneyard. (with another vehicle) put it on. now nothing happens. I was able to get the indicator back to 2wd position to put the actuator on, but now the control module wont click or send power down to the new actuator. All the fuses are still good. Have i somehow ruined the control module? Can it be reset? Press the button the light stays red for 10 seconds. Also discovered that with the bottom 2 wire harnesses unplugged from the control unit, when the reset button pressed it clicks(like a relay actuating) and red light flashes 4 times. Im really praying for some guidance here cause the forecast calling for 6-8 inches wed. HELP!!!
