Can't line up encoder motor to TC.

Hi guys,
I've got a '99 Blazer with 140000 miles, with the NP236 TC, 4-way switch on dash and a service 4wd lite on. Brought to dealer and they diagnosed problem as needing a new encoder motor and TCCM. We found a used encoder motor at local salvage and we're trying to replace it, and it doesn't line up. We've got all 4 wheels up, moved TC shifter shaft all the way clockwise to try to fit into position of used motor, and moved rear drive shaft, but it still won't align. It seems as though the drain plug and housing of TC is in the way. I've been researching this problem for awhile now and some people can pop this thing right in, and others have problem. Any help???

Problem solved. Connected the wiring harness to the encoder motor, reconnected the battery, turned the key on, and pushed the 2wd indicator button and the EM moved one position and then it slipped right into place and works great every time.
