Does any one know if any 2009 WRX STi kits are planned? I am talking about the "hatchback" version like in the picture. I have a few ideas for them and am kind of surprised to see that the Rally car manufacturers didn't jump on them.

Ouch, got caught hotlinking eh? :nono:.
I have not seen anything on HLJ or any other big site regarding a model release of the 08+ STi hatch. I really really really hate the new sedan. Looks like a Corolla, but the hatch isn't bad, so I too am keeping my eye out.

Oops...
Subaru isn't in WRC anymore. I doubt there will be any rally kits.
No word of any kits of the new STI. Civics used to be hot, and there are no kits of the "new" Civic which is now in it's 5th year of production.
Not sure we'll see any kits of the new STI. Certain cars that used to be automatic candidates for models are no longer candidates :frown:

I didn't think about it in my original post, but is anyone working on a transkit for any of the sedan kits?

What do you mean? Like a 08+ transkit for the existing 02-07 Impreza kits?

There are no sedan kits of the 08s and up. Or any at all:( Unless the US rallying circuit blows up larger than any major league sport, we probably have no chance in hell for any new rally kits.

But there is a chance in a company releasing the new road sti or wrx.

If we don't see any prototype at this week's hobby show in Tokyo, the chance of the current Impreza being released as a plastic kit will be very slim (though I wouldn't say zero, since Aoshima took a while, but did release the Evo X).

I would asume that at least one company would make it, with that there would be no competition and major profit no?

If there is an X kit, then I would guess there is a good chance of an 08+ STi kit. These two go together like AMG's and M's. Japan is kicking out a new RA version of the STi, plus a few other versions. So if the car itself is popular enough with the public (I'm guessing it is) then a model is in order.

yeah with the evo x release i am hoping the 08+ STI hatch will come out, but honestly speaking, the 08+ hatch just doesn't have the darth vader presence of a big winged bug eyed sti or the haunting 22b. infact it kinda looks like a ford product.

Indeed. I hated it when it first came out. I thought it was a Kia when I first saw it. The STi has grown on me, but the '07 and previous was eeeevil :naughty:.

I hate the new design, wasn't it designed to get an edge in wrc like all the other hatches that dominate? Makes no sense, and now they pulled out of wrc. Hopefully we do get it so i can make a ken block or a pastrana kit! :evillol:

^^^ Yeah I guess that design was supposed to create better agility. The thing is the car still under-steers like crazy in street form. The sedan looks like an after thought. I hate is it so much. Subaru is dead to me now. The make nothing that I want. I am waiting for the FR coup to come out before I write them off completely.
