stalling when slowing down

The check guage light on my 2002 mountaineer v6 comes on for a few seconds,
then oil pressure guage bottoms out for a second or two causing the service engine light to come on, then it stalls. It seems to happen when slowing down eg. traffic light. Had it scanned for codes at autozone and none were found,alternator checked out good and it has a brand new battery(problem existed even before new battery). Any help is greatly appreciated.

If the Check Engine Light comes on before the engine stalls, there should be at least one code stored. Maybe you need to try a different scan tool and check for pending codes as well.

Service Engine light does not come on until after it stalls. I'll have my mechanic rescan it this weekend. thanks
