Hi all
I've been trying to place an order on their website over the last two days. Their prices are quite good, and I've heard that the shipping charges are reasonable. I've usually ordered from HLJ, but I thought I'd give these guys a try (HLJ does seem to have become more expensive, particularly on shipping).
Problem is, HobbyEasy has to be the slowest website on the internet! It takes forever for pages to load, and yesterday, after creating a basket, it disappeared. I was not amused.
Has anyone else experienced this, and is it worth persevering? Does HobbyEasy provide good service and feedback on order processing, or should one stick with the "tried and tested"?
I'd appreciate your feedback.
Graham

Yes, I have been a very satisfied customer for years!
It is true, that the website is slow, partly for the design and probably partly for the location in China.
Considering the service quality and the prices (including postage by air mail), it is well worth of preserving. The owner (Daniel) has answered extremely quickly to all of my emails. A couple of times there has been products as available, but still are sold out. Every time he has emailed me before proceeding with the order.

I have ordered from them many, many times. Always reliable and very good, fast service. No worries there, Daniel will take good care of you.
Yes, the website is slow, and it works reliably only with IE. If you use FF, your cart might act up. If you are on a Mac, don't use Safari, it won't work at all.

I will reply too because Daniel helped me a lot in the past with an order. The problem there is that Hobbyeasy also sells things that doesn't come from they, I bought a few bottles of alclad and I had problems on the delivery time, but it was caused by HobbyMalayan (remember, those paints doesn't come directly from Hobbyeasy).
Daniel will help you any time you need, I'm very sure.
And for the speed... yes it seems that the delivery speed is a lot much faster than the website
It is a great place to buy.

Thanks for the feedback everybody.
I called a friend here who has also used them, and he gave a strong recommendation also.
I guess I'll just persist and use IE instead of FF (thanks Alex). For a while there I thought I might be connected with the old Hayes modem - sure felt like 2400 bps instead of DSL!

I recently asked if anyone had experience of dealing with HobbyEasy, and a few of you were kind enough to respond.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=965348
I emailed the site to ask whether they were having performance problems, and if they would suggest an alternative URL. Daniel replied immediately to say that the only way to use their site is with IE. No problem there, I have both IE and FF installed anyway. I decided to retry the process towards the end of business day in Hong Kong, which worked better. I was trawling for rivets and other small bits, so there were lots of clicks!
Sending packages to South Africa is expensive (it's the distance, and also our postal workers regard the contents of your parcels as the perks of the job!). I decided to use the courier option, but I stipulated that the order should be cancelled if items are out of stock (I was concerned that the courier cost could get out of hand for broken up shipments).
Now, here's the thing - Daniel emailed me 20 minutes later to say that 1 item is out of stock, but theyll send my order tomorrow (Saturday!) anyway, with the other item to follow next week at no additional cost. Oh, and the courier charges also came in lower than originally quoted.
Now that is how you win customers, don't you agree? They've got my business now.

I never had problems with them.
As for the website, if you use FireFox, try the IETab add-on, it works a treat
