hello all, just recently a "proud" owner of a 2008 G6 GT. well...technically bought it for the Fiance. anyways...got a problem with the car (on top of multiple other problems, most have been fixed now)

both the headlights, AND tail lights fog up when it is damp outside, or right after going through the car wash. the headlights arnt as bad as the tail lights. when i went to the dealership and asked for them to cover under warrenty...the guy told me this is "normal" and that the only way GM will cover it is if there is water in the bottom of the headlight lense. I thought this is outright bull...and if it is true, GM should clean up their act.

i have been very, very unsatisfied with this car so far. it has 23,000 miles on it, and have owned it for apx 4 months now. since we bought it, the key fobs have been replaced, the battery was replaced, the driver side rear door lock had to be replaced, had to pay out of MY pocked to have the car aligned (GM only covers up to 10,000 miles) front strut mounts were replaced, and sending unit had to be replaced.

There shouldn't be any moisture in the lenses. Unfortunately this is another classic leak/seep game that GM likes to play. Its there rules and if your "broken" parts aren't "broken" enough than GM says tough. Its nice to know they are still taking care of there customers!!!

If it where mine I would be filling them up with water, inconspicuously, one at a time until they where all replaced!

:cwm27: I like the idea...

For the headlights.... I can vouch that my 6's headlights would occasionally fog up after a car wash especially on a hot day on the inside, but I would never receive any moisture otherwise on the inside. It is true the only way they will replace the light is if there is water inside the lens all together. I never could figure out why it would only fog up once in awhile and never get more moisture cause even if a seal was broken more moisture should have gotten in.

yeah, i just dont understand. it looks like complete sh*t when it happens. there are even little water droplets that run down the headlight. i was thinking about ordering the Halo headlights off from PFYC, but still...its just the fact that GM will not cover these little fu*k ups. no wonder the G in GM now stands for government
