Hello All, I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with an automatic transmission and just about 2 days ago I noticed that the transmission has begun to slip when I'm in drive and starting from a stop. HOWEVER, if I manually switch my transmission to first gear it doesn't do it at all. I checked my transmission fluid and it's perfect. Oh! Another thing I noticed is that if I floor it when I'm in drive it doesn't seem to slip either. I'm completely lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

there is a cable assembly that runs from transmission to throttle plate {gas pedal} on engine,,,this "sets" line control pressure in transmission...this needs to be set so cable "pulls harder",or longer...pressure as described is too low which causes soft,,,sleezy shifts...cable housing will need to be pushed tward firewall about 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch,,,should be a button on cable where it is held on engine,,,which will allow cable hsg to slide back and forth,,,adj is not real fussy,,,kinda note where it is before you move it.....stronger and slightly later shifts is more desireable.....check ball assy in oil cooler line should also be removed,,,will stop OD failures....gbaum
