I am looking for a cold air intake for my 02 Burb w/5.3. Anyone have any feedback on what to look for or stay away from? What brands are the good ones. The noise will not bother me and I am not in a dusty or wet environment. What is a good website to look for one? My goal is to achieve better acceleration, but more mpg would be a plus also. Thanks to all who do reply!

Personally I think the K&N is the best kit out there for your money. I bought one for my '96 Burb and it helped acceleration a lot. I paired it with a Flowmaster muffler, and there was a noticeable improvement in acceleration. As far as MPG go, it improved at best by 3-4 MPG. It comes with the filter pre-oiled and did NOT damage my MAF sensor. I was impressed with it and the kit comes with all components including a heat shield. :2cents:

The best one is none at all.

Most oem factory air intakes are already on the road forced cold air intake setups.
Look at the OEM air filter and see if it is the large filter with the air intake to it mounted in fender or grille for on the road cold air intake.:)
Very few add on cold air intakes inprove gas mileage or add HP.
And many will give engine running problems in the long run.

A K&N filter in the stock set-up is good for about 1/2 mpg. But don't go off-road without an external sock. The K&N lets in a lot more dirt than stock, not a problem on pavement.
