Electrical issue

I have a '99 chevy malibu. Periodically when you start it the windows will not go down and the climate control system will not work. Both of these issues always occur together. Sometimes when this happen the ABS and Brake lights will both appear, and within five minutes those two lights will shut off and everything will work again. If the problem occurs without those two lights showing up, then to my knowledge they won't work again until you've restarted the car a few times. However, other times everything will work just fine when you start it. Thanks for any assistance ahead of time.

Sounds like 1) a fusible link problem, 2) a fuse problem or a wiring through an appliance problem. Did you replace a radio or have one custom installed recently?

No. It needs a new radio, but we've not really made any major repairs or additions to it of any kind since we've had it, and we bought it about a year and a half ago.

I am convinced that it is the ignition switch problem. How do I confirm that? Use something with weight and soft as a water bottle. Tap the end of the key while the engine is running. I usually have to this once or twice after started the car.
This problem applies to A/C control panel, windows control, gauges control, ABS, battery, etc, lights. They all tie to the same control.

I have to agree that the ignition switch is the likely culprit !
