Its a revolution, not an evolution. I dont think the R35 could have been an evolution like the R34 was from the R33, or the R33 was from the R32. The "look" couldnt have been taken further, IMO, and was taken a step too far with the R34. Personally I find the R33 the most attractive Skyline. And the R35 looks fabulous. Distinctly Skyline, with a fresh look. Bring it on :D

i definitely dig the new skyline. i dont know if i would put it ahead of any of the other models but i cant seem to pick a favorite out of those anyway.
but i like the fact that it still looks like a skyline (in the fenders, the tailights) plus the muscular and futuristic look.
i kind of hope it doesnt come to the states, though. i would like to see the skylines maintain their prestige with very few u.s. owners. but i know im in the very small majority. i guess it comes from the fact that i like to build cars up myself.

That's because most people would rather pay 100k for a car that if it breaks down they won't have to go to speciality shops and order hard to replace parts.....
plus it's a 50k car u are getting for 100k...... I mean it's obvious why there aren't many

Hippo, is right. Just the other day I was in Autozone, and a Diablo owner came in to get a water pump. Its not like a Lambo owner has to take his car to a speciality shop:rolleyes:

Skyline parts are highly specialised I suppose?
SkylineUSA
11-28-2002, 06:08 AM
They're like Mustangs, and Camaros in the states. They're like Rovers, and Capris here in England. Skylines are on every corner back in Japan. Parts can be shipped out.
Yes you can buy aftermarket items, but to say Skylines require a specialty shop, and Lambos do not, is a very ignorant statement.

I dont know how many there are across the UK, but theres a very nice one on Park Lane. I do know a windscreen for a Diablo costs £2k+

In a perfect world, cars wouldnt break down. If for some reason they did, you'd take yours to a garage full of supermodels, Cameron Diaz would fix it free of charge and ask you out on a date, to which you'd reply something witty and she'd take you on the spot there and then.... oooo er... got a bit sidetracked

But I will still take my R35 in silver :)

The R35 does look good in silver.. i was trying to work out whether it would look nice in that Skyline Electric Blue colour (you know which one i mean) but i think it would look too loud in that colour, it ruins the subtlety of the design. Silver it is! :D

in a perfect world petrol would be cheaper....
what does your petorl cost in england/usa/canada/australia per liter?
here in germany "super plus petrol" with 98 roz (the best petrol) would cost about 1,10$ per liter.
you in america have gallons? how many gallons is a liter?
per week i spend about 80$ for petrol :-(

Nope. We have the most expensive cars in Europe and the most expensive fuel. I think one of the Scandinavian countries pays a lot more tax though..

Every SKyline is beautiful, I loved them as long as I loved the Z, its been about 10 years now since I found out what these cars were and I get more respect for them every day.
Petrol down in California, USA costs about $1.80 a gallon, very expensive, a year ago I was paying $1.20. I have a 16 gallon tank, so it gets expensive.

That's dirt cheap and i mean dirt cheap compared to what we pay, which is about $1.20 a litre. work out how much that is for a gallon. ouch :zx11pisse

FOR EVERYONE WHO DISLIKES THIS NEW ''SKYLINE'' THERE APPEARS TO BE ONE MUTUAL DISLIKE , THE HEADLIGHTS . I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE, MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE R34'S AND THEY WOULD LOOK WAY BETTER. IF IT HAS NO ATTRIBUTES OF THE R34 OR OLDER MODELS IT'S NIETHER SKYLINE OR GTR IN MY BOOK. SOMEONE NEEDS TO KICK NISSAN IN IT'S ASS. PLEASE FIX THE BELOVED SKYLINE!:greenchai

Nothing will ever replace a R34, I will love the car over any Ferrari or Lambhorini,
But I love the R35, perhaps, if they kept production of both, everyone would be happy.

that caddy 16 i think is a joke. the president of cadillac is talking about how he wants to bring back american muscle with a flagship car. ok, well a 1000 hp v16 one would be really expensive, so it wouldnt be just your average muscle car, it would be a luxo-barge. and he also says that its a very good possibility of it going into production, which i also doubt, there wouldnt be a big enough market for it i dont think, and the market that woudl like it, wouldnt have the likely 100 or so grand to spend on it. just my 2 cents.
