2007 Cobalt LS - Excessive Road Noise

I have a 2007 Cobalt with 20K miles - salvage title so no factory warranty (body damage only, no frame / powertrain damage). problem is excessive road noise, starts at 25MPH and gets worse up to crusing speed of 75MPH. I suspect a bad wheel bearing based on already having 2 of these replaced on previous GM cars (99 Grand AM, 2003 Impala) with similar sounds. How do I confirm that it is indeed a bad wheel bearing, and how do I determine which one it is? I suspect right front based on where the noise sounds like it's coming from, but that's a guess. No change in sound turning right or left at speed, no obvious difference in play wheel to wheel when jacked up. Thanks

no obvious difference in play wheel to wheel when jacked up. Thanks
Since you said "no difference in play" instead of "no play", I'd say they're both (or all) bad. There should be no play, and noise can start before they're loose.

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, there was no play at all in any of the wheels when I tugged top to bottom and side to side. I tried this as well the last two times that I had to have bearings replaced, no real indication from the feel in those cases either. In both of those cases I could pretty well guess which side was bad based on the difference in volume from the driver to passenger side (the human ear is a marvelous thing!) - no such luck this time.
