Help With Part Identification

Have a component recently rusted loose that I can't seem to identify. Car is a 98 Winnie, 3.8L Limited package. There seem to be 2 black box type modules, each about maybe 3"x3"x6" just behind the drivers side front door/seat mounted in a bracket on the underbody, and they appear to have some kind of armored cable running up into a wireway or something maybe...difficult to see. (see attached pictures)

The bracket holding them has broken loose, and I'm trying to figure out if anything really important is in danger. Doesn't look like there's much of a good way to reattach since the entire bracket seems to have rusted.

Thanks...

I have a 2000 windstar which may be a little different but that looks to me like the spot where the ABS module goes, at least in my vehicle.

Thanks for the suggestion MARZ...

At least on the 98's, the ABS hydraulic/control unit is mounted directly under the battery in the left front section of the engine. A couple of the experts at a different forum suggested that the 2 modules in question were EVAP carbon canisters designed to trap fuel vapors and store them until they can be released into the engine for emission purposes.

Just thought I'd post a quick post with how I braced up my rusty EVAP canister bracket...haven't driven with it yet, but it seems fairly solid. I just put a piece of brass threaded rod through the floor directly above the gap between the 2 canisters (with cotter pins and loctite to keep the nuts from unscrewing), and bent and drilled a piece of steel to act as a brace. loctited and siliconed pretty much everything to keep it as stationary as possible.
