I have a speedometer problem; however, the symptoms are different. My speedometer ticks and only registers that I'm going 35 mph when I'm doing about 55 mph... any ideas?
thank you

First off and most importantly, welcome to AF! I've moved your post to its own thread so that it isn't lost in another thread with a different issue. Please also remember to refrain from reviving old posts unless there was no solution posted and you happen to have it. Thank you!

Well that was helpful ................. NOT !
In 92 Toyota started going to electronic speedos, so you could have that or the normal cable driven one. You could have a problem with the cable (if you have one) or the gauge in the cluster. The cable is a fairly common cause due to lack of lubrication. Otherwise it's in the gauge in the cluster, which usually means replacement. It's rarely the sending unit. First thing would be to get underneath and see if it's cable or not. It comes out of the t-case, pass side.
