I searched, couldn't find anything on this. I need instructions how to remove the 1994 Suburban Front Blower Motor, mine is an underdash blower motor, on passenger side. Thanks. Mine is working, making funny sounds on the lower speeds, need to check it out.

usually this is removed at/under the glove box...removal of the platstic cover should reveal the motor/connector then un fasten...the blower assy....

I find if it makes noises/vib's its usually dirty....If it squeeks it is the bearings....1994 could be bearings ....lube the shaft and see if it helps..if the bearings are worn and the fan wobbles replace unit ...

As j-cAT said go under dash have a look and see.

Mitchell says to remove bolt from right dash support and plull motor forward to get it out.

Yup you need to remove the bolt from the dash support and pry the support up and out just slightly to get enough room to sneak the blower motor out.

I just did this and here's what I found:

There's a rubberized cover over the motor that covers the screws that secure the motor to the housing. This cover has several fittings passing through it that make 'lifting' it out of the way impossible.

Disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the glove box. Remove the engine computer from the right hand side of the glove box area. I used a 7mm 1/4 drive socket on a 1/2 adapter for the screws. This was just the right size to fit in the space and give me the leverage to undo the fasteners. Now the rubber cover lifts off.

Remove the hose from the motor. Then remove the connectors from the motor and unbolt the motor. You may need to save the ground tab from under it's screw. The motor may slide right out. If not, remove the single bolt at the passenger door. Lift the dashboard slightly a the bottom and the motor will slide right out.

I slid the rubber cover out of the way enough to get to the screws. Then I cut pieces of it away and slit it to allow me to reinstall it around all the hoses & stuff after I had the motor in...yes, it's a PITA.

I have a '95 Burb and the motor was making lots of noise. Bearings are shot. I was having trouble getting the shroud off. After getting the "computer" out, the tray that the computer sits on is covering a tab on the back top part of the shroud. There is a screw that holds the tray that the computer sits on down and once removed, I was able to remove the shroud. Then access to the blower mounting screws was easy. I did have to pry up on the dash to remove the motor.
Yes, MITA

On my 96 the fan/blower sounds like I should be getting hurricane force winds out of the vents, but what I get is a volume like a low fan setting. Could that be the actual motor/fan assembly, something clogged, or some vent not opening properly?

I'm no expert and still have not bought a new fan for my 95. Mine has 2 terminals (black and purple I think). Autozone and Advance both have pretty cheap ones but they only have one terminal.
Does your motor change sounds as you use different blower settings? It could be in the dash controls but I don't know the proceedures for testing the voltage to the blower. Sorry, not much help there, but this forum is a great place to educate yourself.
