2000 dodge grand caravan e brake won't release

The emergency brake pedal was pushed down and won't come back up. Is there any was to trip the mechanism to bring the pedal. The way it is supposed to work is you push it down to engage, then a quick push and release is supposed to disengage it. I got it set and it will not disengage. :smokin::banghead:

I guess that no one on here works at or for Dodge dealers. This can't be the only time sonething like this has happened. Can anyone tell me what part of the e brake cable is the cheapest to replace? That is the part I will cut to release this and then tear the damn thing out. I guess I had hoped that a Dodge mechanic with some experience would of looked at this post. Thanks anyway.....:runaround:

Also look at the Online Service manual post at top of page for info on cables and such that may be of help.
Appears you have either a frozen cable or faulty parking brake mechanism, which seems to be a common problem on the 3rd gen vans.
