The gay agenda -- deal with it or else!

You know what pisses me off about the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender/blahblahblah movement? The fact that so many of these asses aren't just campaigning for it -- they're PUSHING it on the rest of society. And not only are they pushing it on the rest of society, they're trying to push other existing institutions asunder in order to accomplish it. What's most troubling about this movement (and what separates it from the civil rights and women's rights movements of the past) is that this brute force approach is actually being accepted as the mainstream method of approach. Campaigning women didn't try to forward their agenda by stepping all over the entrenched traditional male/female societal roles (aside from aggressive feminist groups that were/are undoubtedly in the minority) the mainstream approach was to assert their views, shine light on the issue, and show that it was indeed beneficial for the greater good of everyone. Society came around! Campaigning blacks didn't try to forward their agenda by stepping all over the entrenched racial views that had been fostered by centuries history (aside from aggressive groups like black panthers and other reverse-racist movements) the mainstream approach, lead by great men like Martin Luther King, was to shine a light on the issue and convince society of the myriad negatives of this system. And sure enough, society came around!

Which brings me to the gay rights movement. The gravity of this issue may very well eclipse all others, as key components of it strike right at the heart of spiritual belief systems -- the basis for nearly all societies. The gay rights movement has somehow made the practice of shoving it down everyone else's throat the mainstream approach. Not content with shining a light on it, and working to convince society to come around, the gay agenda finds it's bearings in forcing kindergarteners to undergo "sensitivity" classes, legislatures to completely throw aside issues of common decency and safety in order to make the same bathroom usable by he's or she's or he-she's or she-he's, and apparently foister upon school children books about f***ing GAY PENGUINS. And the powers that be actually seem to be going along with this! A local city newspaper (as part of our ongoing gay marriage fiasco here in NH) featured a story on this subject, and they had a picture of a gay couple on page 1 prominently dislaying the big flag they have hanging on their house: the american flag altered so that the red and white stripes are instead a damn rainbow. ON THE FRONT PAGE!! Talk about pissing journalistic decency right out the window.

The more these people push and push, the more resistance they're going to build from the general population. People will eventually come around to accept anything that's reasonable -- but you can't launch an outright attack on their millenia-old values, blatantly assault young impressionable minds before they even have the ability to reason for themselves, and declare war on a system that's designed to function and adapt within a core set of guidelines that are in place to keep the thing from just being totally hijacked.

Despite the fact that I actually hold many sympathetic views in respect to the status of gay couples within society, as long as they, and the media, and the grovelling politicians try to pressure me, I will fall back to my core belief -- that you can take your agenda of force and shove it.

The civil rights movement is littered with both blacks and whites that paid with their lives to move the issue forward. Do you think going back to letting out the dogs, lynchings, church bombings and assassinations will be the answer to the “gay agenda” too?

As much as one might think it's ugly to oppose additional homosexual rights, homosexual activist groups haven't done themselves any favors in the public eye through the tactics they use. :nono:

I do find it interesting that the pro-rights activists saw fit to attack black americans en masse for supporting prop 8 by a decent majority. Seems to me that the black community might know something about discrimination, but that's just a wild-ass guess on my part.

Well, it's the principle of the actions/restrictions on their equality. I can completely understand their position that Prop 8 is unfair and is based on outdated, hypocritical mythology (aka christian ideology).

I really do not understand the opposition to this in the US? Isn't the States the Land of the Free? Why not let gay and lesbian people be free to do what makes them happy? Gay marriage does not harm anyone else, so what's the objection?

In the meantime, I sincerely hope they will all visit my hometown (Toronto) as tourists (bring your tourist dollars!) and to get married.
We have had gay/lesbian marriage for some years here and nobody objects..... it's a non issue.

While I understand that everyone has the right to a thought/opinion/whatever, many times you get people who couldn't put together coherent one if their lives depended on it. I think part of the argument here is, it's not so much that they're campaigning for their rights, but they're telling people that no matter what everyone else thinks on the matter, they are the ones that have the right opinion.

That being said, would you defend them still if they are trying to oppress the opinions of their opposition? Would you defend the hatred and potential consequences that could come forth as they face people that don't agree with them as sternly as they believe their rights are evident?

I think so many people take advantage of our freedoms as shield to hide behind and then bog down those that oppose them instead of creating a constructive dialogue that might actually benefit people. That's why I hate it when I meet gays who begin talking about it as if anyone else who thinks differently is flat out wrong, as if there is no other direction the argument could take but theirs. I have gay friends who feel the same way.

I just wish people would exercise their freedom of speech by being informed and by being communicative with others. With free thought and speech comes free response and being that as it is, we should at least be open to the opposition's thoughts.

I personally think you are wrong. What's the difference between being born black and being born gay? Neither is a choice. I have never known or heard of a person who became gay, or black, by choice. With all the discrimination and humiliation that the gay people have to endure I hardly think it would be by choice. You're born gay or not. You're born black or not. Bigotry is a learned behavior, but at least you have a choice.

Depending on the shape of your state's economy, the gay population looking to get married and the amount of money area businesses would have to put into insurance for these newly married couples, I would say that it has great potential to affect you very much, actually.
