my cruise control fuse keeps blowing. this also causes my gas gauge, temperature gauge, and my odometer not to work. i talked to a mechanic and he said to get a new gauge cluster. i bought one and put it in. it worked for a few minutes and the the fuse blew again. Anybody have any suggestions before i start going broke from buying new parts that i dony need. thanks

Cruise fuse 3 in IP panel?
Always use good Buse fuses.
No wallmart Chiana specials.

Ask your mechanic if he wants to eat a new insturment panel?

That fuse feeds the insturment cluster and Body module and lumbar seat switch and muti function switch and cruise module.

Does the fuse blow engine running or just key on?

In case of short /blowing fuse you will have to start unpluging everything that is on that fuse circuit untill you find the short.

A good wiring diagram will help you find the stuff and wiring.

Also a good circuit breaker fuse the same amo will save on fuses.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

i unplugged everything one at a time and it does not blow when i unplug the cluster. the fuse blows with key on but not always right away.

Better check the cluster or cluster wiring.
Good Luck

Does it do same thing old or new cluster?

Possiable something wired to the cluster has a short.

Get a good wiring diagram and check everything wired to cluster for short.
Some electrical places have a short finder deal.
May help you pinpoint short.
Let us know how it goes.
Good Luck

PS: Get a new mechanic. Anyone that calls themselves a mechanic and charges people for their advice/labor should not suggest throwing parts at it in the hopes that it will fix it.

You could have a bad new cluster or one of the wires to the cluster is shorted.

Check plugin on cluster real close.
And try to pinout cluster wiring outside of ground for short.
Has any rewiring or repair been done it when cluster fuse started blowing?
