another Freestar jerking

recently bought a 2005 freestar for my wife- plus extended gold warranty and maint plans- shortly after we bought it my wife had stalled out and broke down on the road. i drive it allot and had some serious jerking with the van, seem like always just before a hill and usually on non-highway driving- i usually manage to just get past it, but she just called me and is stranded again- jerking into full stall and the vans not going. I usually do all my own repairs but have grown tired of it , i always found myself doing repairs outside on my back in the winter- so when i bought this one i got the extra warranty with this van so i'd only ever have to work on my car. I haven't touched a thing on this van, the dealer has been maintaining it. The dealer also claims they haven't gotten any codes out of the vehicle so tough shit for me. - even after a stall and subsequent c-e-l. i've taken it back to them 3 times and they will do no diagnostics work or any kind of repair work unless they can read a code first (wtf?) They always return the van to me saying 'there's nothing wrong" :headshake- so here i am with a vehicle that has broken down and stranded my wife and kids 3 times, and the dealer won't do a thing about it (flemington,nj). this van is starting to act like a lemon. Does anybody have any tips (maybe sensor tests) i can look into without violating my warranties- as soon as i can get it back i'm running over to the local auto part store to see if they can get a code on it- can anyone help? the dealer won't replace any sensors, coil, or anything unless they have a code and i'm not sure of terms if i work on it. any tips? thanks. all i can say about the van, other than these serious issues, is that when it idles on startup, the rpm is a little bouncy- every other car i've ever had idled smoother than this thing. also, the jerk that happens every day is very pronounced, it can give you whiplash- please , any experts out there that can help me diagnose this so i can proove it to the dealership and get this thing fixed? i've asked them to look into the pcm, thinking maybe moisture got in through the wiper boot, but they balked because of the lack of codes.

wife just called me back and says it starts but won't go into gear- fluids and gauges are fine- still no check engine light and no gear.
also- with this van the red arrow always showed far right of the gear- so when in d the indicator would be on the far right side of D. now two issues- jerking and stalling and shifter switch?

The dealer is giving you the berries. You don't need a code to check out a problem. Ford has a systematic way of checking every problem by doing pin point tests of different systems. They've already got your money and don't want to spend any of their's to correct a problem. You need to go to a higher up. Either the Ford Motor Co. in Dearborn or the better business bureau in your own town. Enough said.

I'm having the same problem with my van stalling out. Ford checks it out for me but they've yet to find anything and they said it would be easier to diagnose if I had a check engine code. It's so frustrating! Did you find out what was causing your problem yet?
