Hi,
I have an 1994 Olds Ninety Eight Regency Elite, with the supercharged 3800. It has 127K, and has always been well cared for.
Recently, the transmission has started to make a 'click' (the best I can describe it) just above idle, while in Park. If you accelerate the engine just above idle, it will begin to make this intermittent click sound and sometimes the car actually jumps forward a little bit, kind of like when you lean on the car.
The trans does not slip in any of the forward ranges, or in reverse. I serviced the trans back in December, no junk in the pan. I have always changed the fluid/filter once a year, with a bottle of LubeGard installed as well.
The clicking does not appear when the car is in Drive or Reverse. I can apply the brake in gear and accelerate, and the clicking is absent.
Any ideas, before I go to the trans shop? I had a bad trans experience years ago with another 98 that was rebuild and the overdrive never worked.
Thanks,
Michael
