Hey. I just joined about 4 minutes ago. I found the Corvette section and am quite pleased that this site is the one where I needed to come to. Let me start off by saying that I have been around Corvettes all my life, I am on my third one right now, and I do most work myself so I am more than willing to help anyone out with a problem. Most everything on my car is rebuilt by me. It's an 86', cast iron heads, block was rebuilt, rebuilt 700R4 transmission with extra clutch packs, new interior, new switches, lighting exaust ect. So I will share my knowledge to the best of my ability. I am a member of about 8 other car forums so I know the general rules and will abide by them here as well. If I do something wrong or am about of place, please say so. Just wanted to introduce myself before I get down to the nitty gritty.
A stock S2000 built in the year 2001 has roughly 240 horsepower with ~153 lbs of torque. V-tec 4 cylinder motor. It has a borla exaust system. That is the only modifacations to it. I have a 1986 corvette. True dual exaust, no emissions, eliminated AIR, EGR, Cats ect and flowmaster 40 series mufflers and brand new aluminized pipeing, cold air intake, dropped front end, stage 1 weight reduction, power coupler, Big Mouth Air Dam, 160* thermostat, new cooling system, ect.
Heads up race, who would win? Stock my 86' has 230 HP and 330 lb of torque but since it mostly has been rebuilt and some mods, it should be a little more. It is always fully tuned up ect. So yes, who would win? Would I have faster acceleration. Also, my car is a automatic and his is a automatic from the people that have ridden with him. I did not know S2000 came in autos.:headshake
If this is the wrong section, I am sorry. Thanks for any input guys.
