its not as "tight" as it should be..I thought replacing the shocks would fix the problem..but it hasn't..what else would I need to replace to not have such a bouncy ride?

Try some KYB gas adjust shocks.
These will take the bounce out of your ride..

i still have the bouncy ride, havent taken/replaced the shocks that were put on back in march...thinking of taking them off and putting on new ones because when i turn i dip into the turn, and my braking is off because of the bounciness...i told my mechanic and he said i should buy some springs, but everything "symptom" that i read it says I have bad shocks...and not springs
so should i buy some new springs, have them put on and if the ride is still bouncy should i just replace the shocks again with a more high performance ones?

earlier I asked what shocks did you use in this vehicle...you did not reply...manufacturer and part number....
these vehicles do have front spring problems.....are these springs original ????best replace front springs if so...when this is done you will need new shocks, new front stabilizer links, and frame bushings on the stabilizer bar mounting...
the shocks to use would be bilstein shocks,,,,I use these shocks they are heavy duty double action lifetime warrantee....part number f4-b46=1104-ho.....
you probably used the monroe granpa shocks....
sounds like you don't work on you vehicle,,with your lack of feedback..
If you rely on a repair shop to do your repairs,, they will put the cheapest parts in, and still charge the maximum....then these parts fail and your back soon to give them more cash.........

how do you think I guessed correctly you used the monroe shocks????
seen this before...they do not last....and with old springs they are useless..
you replace the parts as I recommended and then you might feel its too tight...because your very much used to that sloppy ride you have now...

I only buy lifetime warrantee on most parts..the bilstein shocks are very solid and with good springs will last 5-6years...2 years ago I replaced all 4 for free...because I keep all my receipts in a folder...this is how you can save some money long term....since 1967 I've only had 4 vehicles buy new and keep forever....with proper maintanence and fixing issues fast will minimize greater damage and expense..

don't forget the stabilizer bar these when working correctly will reduce sway...the rubber bushings fail after 5 years then the sway bar lossens and you get a tire wear problems with the sway...also the bar moves so much it can even scrap the tire when the wheels are turned fully right/left..

THE BAR IS NOT REPLACED,,,,THE BUSHINGS AND LINK BUSHINGS ARE....
AUTO ZONE should direct you to the correct size ......as the bars have different diameter.....
the bar itself can crack,,,,this I have seen,,if the springs are very bad and the shocks as well the bar flxes so much it gets damaged to the point where it will snap...

just now seeing this, the springs did make the front sit higher and i can tell a small difference, but the steering does still feel a little odd when i am turning the wheel and its coming from the front
the bushings you said to replace, are they technically called control arm bushings? because thats whats showing up on the auto zone website

If you are looking for sway bars, check out Hotchkiss brand.
I have them on my wagon (front and rear) and they really make the car corner flat. Jegs has them but they are not cheap. There are other brands also that are less expensive. Beefier sway bars are a necessary addition to almost any stock car IMO.
As far as the sway bar end links go, I would go with urethane instead of the stock rubber. They offer better steering response than rubber. Energy suspension has them and you can usually find them at pep boys or at jegs.com. They are not that expensive.

no this is the sway bar bushings and the links that hold this sway bar in place....the control arms are where the springs are held,,,you have upper and lower control arms.....on each side...
you only have one sway bar in front two bushings ,these hold the bar on each side to the frame,,,and 2 links connected to the bar ends with a long bolts and 4 small round spacer bushings..
advance auto parts moog sway bar bushings kit 2 pieces part # k6459 $16.50/////moog link kit part # k6630 $11.50..
lifetime warrantee..

MOST LIKELY the rear shocks are good..with worn springs the shocks take a beating...with the stabilizer bush/link kit you will see a big improvement..
DO NOT GET THE ALIGNMENT DONE UNTIL YOU PUT 500-1000MI ON THE VEHICLE...this will ensure that the alignment will not change as the springs WILL settle down a bit,,,so if it at first looks toooooo high don't worry it will drop...then alignment..
