(I can't figure out how to start a new thread)
I have a 2000 Forester. Had this ticking once before, cured by pressing some switch under the dash?
It is ticking even when the car is not running..It is constant and not changed by RPM's ..obviously hard on the battery. It is NOT coming from the engine. It sounds like a soft turn signal.
I KNOW there is an easy free fix, but I can't remember what it is. Anybody know?

Hey, another PA person! (well, I'm not anymore, but once was)
Anyhoo, I'm afraid that I haven't a clue about any ticking noises. Perhaps try feeling around under the dash to find said switch?
