Holder: US is nation of cowards on racial matters

WASHINGTON (AP) - Attorney General Eric Holder described the United States Wednesday as a nation of cowards on matters of race, saying most Americans avoid discussing unresolved racial issues.
In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.
"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," said Holder, nation's first black attorney general.

I would have thought that, given the fact that a black president has been elected, we could put racist crap away.

Well, there is still going to be racism even with a black president. However, I believe another problem we have is the race card being drawn out far too often. I have said this before but I have been called a racist more than once by getting in a political debate where I simply started off saying, "I'm not really a big fan of Obama." In turn, they said, "that's just because your another dumb racist white boy." I in turn asked him if he was a fan of president Bush. He replied with his great discontent for GWB. I said, "so that must mean you are racist since you didn't like GWB because he is white right? Because that is all the logic you used to assess me as a racist." After that, he became a bit more quiet. :D

Sounds like another black man feeling sorry for himself. The kind of guy who yells "RACISM" everytime something doesn't go his way. I work with a guy who is always saying he's discriminated against because he's black. Our boss (located in another office) is always calling him and checking up on him and giving him projects and busy work to do. He gets pissed and says "he's only harrassing me because I'm black". But the thing is, he shows up 1/2 hour late every day, leaves 1/2 hour early every day, takes 2 hour lunches and disappears for 2-3 hours at a time at various time throughout the day to run errands and do personal chores. He ignores the fact that he is a sub-standard employee and claims racism as his reason to feel persecuted when in reality he's lucky he's not been fired.
I also notice in those videos where police use excessive force against a black suspect...the force is always preceded by the black guy mouthing off to the cop, or not sitting down and shutting up while the cop is interviewing other suspects...or leading 10 cop cars on a televised freeway chase. Jeezus maybe if you'd pull the fuck over when the red lights flash you wouldn't get your ass kicked?
Sorry, I'm have nothing against black people and most of the black people I know feel the same way I do. Just quit "acting a fool" and maybe you won't be mistreated?

He just wants to create problems and keep people stirred up.
.........................................
Matt Miller, a spokesman for Holder, said later the attorney general used "provocative words to be clear that Americans of all races should stop avoiding the difficult issues of race."
Meyers said Holder's speech signals to him "that this attorney general is profoundly left in the dark and in the past about race."
"Race ain't what it used to be in America. We've changed. We have the first African American president and the first African American attorney general. Wake up, Mr. Holder! Wake up!" Meyers said.
But FOX News contributor Juan Williams said he understood what Holder was saying when he said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.
Echoing the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Williams said the 11:00 hour on Sundays in church is the most segregated hour during the country's week.
"Even our best colleges," Williams said. "How come all the Asian kids are here, the black kids are here, the Jewish kids are there? They live in a self-enforced segregation and I think he's saying we need to have more conversation, more honestly about that kind of racial separation."
Williams added that Holder is signaling that he will use his position to address concerns about the diminution of the civil rights division in his department.
"I think what he was saying is the civil rights division is going to be vigilant in making sure we don't have a situation where there is discrimination taking place and law enforcement is turning a blind eye."
Has it ever occurred to these asshats that people actually hang out with people like themselves because they have a lot of things in common? :runaround:
I seriously doubt I'll have any interest in hanging out with a bunch of black kids and start listening to rap and hip hop just because we have a black president (OK, kinda black -- almost) and a black atty. gen, but I do admit that I like Hendrix and listen to Kravitz once in a while.

I eat my share of fried chicken & watermelon, so I guess the next thing on the the black mans agenda will be to criticized me for eating 'mo' than my fair share. At least I do have enough respect for our environment, to get out of my car and put the empty "Popeye's" chicken box & 32oz drink cup in the trash can, rather than throw it in the parking lot like some cultures prefer to do!
Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives. What is he suggesting here, that we should have forced integration on the weekends?
In the early days of mankind, the races were separated and given their own languages for a reason. Forced integration has not accomplished anything, if the hostilities of the past continue to dominate the minds of the different cultures. Time to look in the mirror -- Holder
The most dangerous folks alive, are the ones who hold power in law enforcement and have a grudge against other cultures. Keep an eye on this one! :uhoh:

Statistics are statistics, and there is quite simply still an enormous division between white and minority demographics with respect to education, jobs, income, socioeconomics, etc...So in short, no, we cannot put racism behind us.

He was just grandstanding. :screwy: Maybe if Mr Holder had sent some time in the military he would know all about about forced integration, affirmative action and race relations which IMO is now a thing of the past. Our military services have the best cross section of America based on race and the representation is pretty darn close as to national standards based on population. We all got along just fine so what the hell is Holder referring to? It sounds like he needs to get a grip on reality and spend some more time with people of other races other than black. :grinyes:
BTW - He can do it on the weekends or weekdays. I really could care less about him and his philosophy on race.

Don't try to convince me that the doors have not been wide open for minorities in "education, jobs, income, socioeconomics" for many years, the problem is; many people classified in that category prefer not to cross the threshold! In the school system where I worked, we were criticized by the minorities for demanding the same standards & expectations for all students, regardless of race, creed, religion, or national origin. We did not lower our standards for minorities, because we knew that if they had the same education, knowledge & skills as anyone else, they could compete equally in the job market; and those who did, have become equally successful. Job quotas were ineffective, because it put people in positions that they were not prepared to handle, therefore resentment & hostility prevailed.
So in short, no, we cannot put racism behind us. That is unfortunate, it's just another way of feeling sorry for yourself. Equal opportunity prevails, in fact if you are an minority with the same education, knowledge & skills, as anyone else, you have the advantage in the job market. Throw the race card in the garbage, it will not pave the road to your success! :grinno:

Post ONE peer reviewed, major journal article supporting your supposition that minorities have equal opportunity to succeed. Or that minorities have a decreased desire to succeed relative to caucasians.
The time for talk is over, let's see some hard evidence from the conservative right backing them up on this issue.

Racism truly baffles me. We're the most advanced species on the planet with cogniscense that extends beyond anything else one could find, yet we cannot seem to get over the fact that the coloring to our skin is different. "Well, I know how to create things that most people would sit and look at in wonder, but damnit, that black guy gets on my nerves because he's not the same color as me." Seriously? I mean really, how PATHETIC is our society because of this?
Still, I also think that there are too many people that say someone is racist or this is racist and that is racist, much like was mentioned above. Case in point is the recent New York Post cartoon that is a lampoon on the way the stimulus bill was created, not on the President who made it his priority. If you ask me, the black people or asian people or whatever other race you want, that make issues out of things like cartoons that are meant to be SATIRICAL, are doing so because they want to stir the pot and because they themselves have a problem with the races others.
I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling, but I reallllllllly hate it when someone acts racist, claims to be racist with pride or plays the race card out of ignorance or stupidity.
The fact that we are still a country of racists and bigots is a testament to the fact that our country is no more advanced than it was years ago. We're just better at hiding it these days.

Apparently, you live in the wrong part of the country and do not understand diversity in the workplace like we do. Where I live, minorities make up about 30% of the population, but hold about 50% of the jobs. Click Here (http://www.eeoc.gov/stats/jobpat/2006/cbsa/index.html) for "statistics" if that is what you like. If you don't like what you see in the city you reside, move to a more culturally diverse environment! :grinyes:

So with these stats what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that both whites, blacks, etc are all trying equally but the blacks are being discriminated agianst in their test scores? And as it stands whites can't always get jobs because a company has met their affirm. action quota...leaving the door wide open for anyone who's of a different race to come in and take that job. And while yes, if they are doing poorly in school, and have a higher unemployment rate I am sure they are going to have less income and less home ownership. It is sort of a dominos affect...clearly. But I guess to me it all comes back down to education which roots this lack of money, jobs, etc. Which for me brings up the question, do blacks just tend to not do as well in school or are they actually being discriminated agianst upon grading? In Japan, they have far higher test score averages than here in the US because they tend to do better in school. There tend to be more black people in the NBA because I would assume there are more all-star black players than there are white. I wouldn't say upon striving to make it to the NBA that whites are discriminated agians...WE JUST TEND TO NOT BE AS GOOD! However, in this day and age, if minorities are not keeping up with WHITES in ANY aspect, it is said that they are being discriminated agianst.
So I guess with this logic, it is fair to say that until every race competes in everything with the same success rate there will be discrimination.

There is nothing in that data presented or factual proof that suggests that the U.S. is suffering from a systemic or endemic problem with racism, racial discrimination or lack of equal opportunity for those willing to succeed or pursue the so called "American Dream" causing the socioeconomic problems of one race to another. :grinno:
I'll pick away at just one example because I don't plan on wasting any more time on this issue.
Jobs
Black unemployment 9.4%, white unemployment 4.9%

Keep in mind blacks are approximately 12-13% of the total U.S. population base which exceeded 300 million around October 2007. So any data presented has to be compared to our national population figures broken down by race and percentages which can be viewed at the U.S. Census web site. For example just based on the 2000 census 34,658,190 (12.3%) were black. 211,460,626 (75.1%) were white. So if the 9.4% versus 4.9% unemployment figures hold true then there were more white persons out of employment than blacks so what does it really mean. :runaround: 10,361,570 white versus 3,257, 869 black. Obviously you are not going to get a job if you sit on your rear end or fail to better yourself and prefer drawing welfare.
But I still can't see how you can extrapolate or even speculate that we have an issue with racism in this country as a direct and proximate cause of the differences in the statistics and socioeconomic factors which are open to interpretation based on one's agenda to include political ideology. Obviously there are other variables and factors involved.
:lol2::lol:Now THAT is funny!
It wasn't meant to be funny and I'm laughing all the way to the bank. The bleeding heart liberals can keep on feeling sorry for us poor, uneducated, underprivileged minorities. I don't mind. But I hate being patronized or misrepresented in the process.

I would agree that there are no studies showing causation, but that's mostly because such a study would be totally and completely impossible for a whole host of reasons. To denounce the argument due to a lack of mechanistic understanding is ridiculous in this case, particularly when the evidence is so strong.
There is also no data or factual proof indicating that electromagnetic forces exist, or that gravity exists, only gobs and gobs of physical observations leading to what we call laws, which are really only mathematical descriptions. Do you fear that you will fall off the planet one of these days?

I'll try and come up with a simple way of explaining this. If you have 100 white people and 50 black people in a country, and 40 of the white people are employed while 0 black people are employed, does that mean that blacks aren't discriminated against because more total white people are unemployed? I'm not sure if you don't understand how proportions work if you just didn't bother to click on the link before you went into attack mode...

Fine. Racism isn't the cause. It is rather due to the fact that blacks and hispanics are simply lazy, and have no desire to succeed, and would rather live off welfare, right? And since these statistics are both valid and reliable over time, that would imply that both cultures have always been that way relative to whites, right?
It wasn't meant to be funny and I'm laughing all the way to the bank. The bleeding heart liberals can keep on feeling sorry for us poor, uneducated, underprivileged minorities. I don't mind. But I hate being patronized or misrepresented in the process.

So I'm still waiting to see a conservative back up their side of the argument with some empirical evidence, no more of this anecdotal supposition stuff.

Statistics are statistics, and there is quite simply still an enormous division between white and minority demographics with respect to education, jobs, income, socioeconomics, etc...So in short, no, we cannot put racism behind us.
Are you just referring to blacks or other minorities as well?
My job requires me to pick up clients at their home. In the very well to do neighborhoods, I tend to see more Asian, Indian and middle-eastern living in these neighborhoods that white (caucasians)
In my own city caucasian is the minority!

Nation's Blacks Creeped Out By All The People Smiling At Them
February 16, 2009 | Issue 45•08
WASHINGTON—A majority of African-Americans surveyed in a nationwide poll this week reported feeling "deeply disturbed" and "more than a little weirded out" by all the white people now smiling at them.
Black citizens have reported a disturbing 350 percent increase in interracial high-fiving since January 20.
First witnessed shortly after President Obama's historic victory, the open and cheerful smiling has only continued in recent months, leaving members of the black community completely unnerved.
"On behalf of black people across this nation, I would like to say to our white brethren, 'Please stop looking at us like that,'" said Brown University psychology professor Dr. Stanley Carsons. "We're excited Barack is president, too, and we're glad you're happy for us. But giving us the thumbs up for no reason, or saying hello whenever we walk by, is really starting to freak us out."
Added Carsons, "We just want to be able to stand in line at Home Depot without getting patted on the back."
According to the poll, more than 92 percent of African-Americans have noticed a dramatic increase in the number of beaming Caucasians in their vicinity, as well as a marked rise in the instances of white people making direct eye contact with them on the bus, engaging them in pleasant conversation, and warmly gazing in their general direction with a mix of wonder, pride, and profound contentment. All respondents reported being "petrified" by the change.
.................................................. ........
While experts couldn't predict how long this unsettling new trend would continue, at least one citizen, who wished to remain anonymous, said he had given up hope of ever feeling comfortable around white people again.
"Everywhere I go, there they are: offering me pancakes, laughing at all my jokes, even bursting into tears when they see me," said the Washington, D.C. resident and father of two. "I know you mean well and all, but seriously, knock it off. You're giving my children nightmares."
As of press time, the nation's Arab-Americans have reported no discernible change in all the angry, reflexive scowling.
Oh, just in case I have to explain it for the humor impaired, The Onion is a satire site.
If we don't laugh once in a while, we'll all go insane.

Unfortunately, many of the points he makes fall on deaf ears. It is neither profitable nor politically expedient for the demagogues in the ruling elite to upset the racial status quo.
Rev. Al, Rev. Jessie, et al, have made a handsome living keeping the pot stirred. After all, there's a racist devil behind each and every tree in America, just clamoring to keep blacks victimized and powerless.
The underclass in this part of the country is poor, white, ignorant redneck. They're every bit as underprivileged as any blacks I've seen. Illegitimacy and living off govt assistance is rampant.
So, what's Holder's deal, anyway? Is he just pissed off because the white boys don't invite him over for barbeque on the weekends? Let's get real; an integrated workplace M-F may be as good as it gets.
Birds of a feather, and all that.
HotZ, I agree; I probably eat more soul food than some blacks I know.

The "Reverend" Jesse Hi-Jackson & Bro Al, have both extorted every major corporation that they could, then went straight to the bank to make a deposit in their personal account with the proceeds. No doubt, Rev Al & Hi-Jack, just made a killing off the cartoon of the Chimp being shot. Both of these assholes are no more than corporate extortionists and they play the race card for their personal gain. Rev Hi-Jackson, has never held a job in his life, other than flipping burgers, while at the same time, bragged about spitting on the burgers that he served white customers. Are we talking about racists here, or just parasitic, pathetic POS! :loser:

The Republicans that helped pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964 if any are still alive today are probably having second thoughts about what their actions would bring over 40 years later. The Demos filibustered it. So much for social conservatism.

Mayor who sent watermelon e-mail says he'll resign
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — The mayor of a small Southern California city says he will resign after being criticized for sharing an e-mail picture depicting the White House lawn planted with watermelons under the title "No Easter egg hunt this year."
Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose issued a statement Thursday saying he is sorry and will step down as mayor at Monday's City Council meeting.
Grose came under fire for sending the picture to what he called "a small group of friends." One of the recipients, a local businesswoman and city volunteer, publicly scolded the mayor for his actions.
Grose says he accepts that the e-mail was in poor taste and has affected his ability to lead the city. Grose said he didn't mean to offend anyone and claimed he was unaware of the racial stereotype linking black people with eating watermelons.
Located in Orange County, Los Alamitos is a 2 1/4-square-mile city of around 12,000 people.

Clint Eastwood Slams Political Correctness
Actor Clint Eastwood sees nothing funny about political correctness.
The "Dirty Harry" actor told Germany's Der Spiegel that modern society lives in a state of fear over the possibility of being labeled racist for telling jokes based on ethnicity or nationality.
"People have lost their sense of humor," he told the magazine. "In former times we constantly made jokes about different races. You can only tell them today with one hand over your mouth otherwise you will be insulted as a racist.
"I find that ridiculous. In those earlier days every friendly clique had a 'Sam the Jew' or 'Jose the Mexican' -- but we didn't think anything of it or have a racist thought. It was normal that we made jokes based on our nationality or ethnicity. That was never a problem.
"I don't want to be politically correct. We're all spending too much time and energy trying to be politically correct about everything."

I still haven't figured this one out. Cartoon of a chimpanzee equals racist? :dunno:
Rupert Murdoch has personally apologised for the New York Post cartoon that critics labeled as racist for likening a violent chimpanzee shot dead by police officers to Barack Obama.
The News Corporation chairman and chief executive issued a statement today in which he said the cartoon was intended only to mock Obama's economic stimulus bill, which the Post considered to be a badly written piece of legislation, but that it had turned out to be a mistake because it had offended so many.
"As the chairman of the New York Post, I am ultimately responsible for what is printed in its pages. The buck stops with me," added Murdoch. "Last week, we made a mistake. We ran a cartoon that offended many people. Today I want to personally apologise to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted."
The original cartoon had sought to link Obama's bill to the real-life shooting, by Connecticut police last Monday, of a pet chimpanzee that attacked a friend of its owner before turning on a police officer who shot him in self-defence.
Captioned "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill", the cartoon prompted accusations that the Post was peddling a longstanding racist slur by portraying the president, who signed the economic stimulus bill last Tuesday, as an ape.

I agree the cartoon is in bad taste but racist NO!!! :grinno:
The last chimp in the White House was G.W. Bush.

Agree. Every cartoon had him drawn to resemble a chimp. Funny how no one was carrying on about that.
I think it would have been better to have a caricature of Pelosi laying dead on the sidewalk. I wonder what a howling moonbat looks like in cartoon form?

Good point! The other assumption is whether Obama actually wrote the bill(s) or the only political figure involved.
Another recent case was with Miley Cyrus. The Asians are up in arms.

NANCY PELOSI, CARBON CRIMINAL
February 8, 2007
Remember when all then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich wanted was to use the front steps of Air Force One?
That didn't work out, thanks to Bill Clinton's aides - but in retrospect it seems that the taxpayers never had it so good.
Now the new speaker, Democrat Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, is demanding her own personal Pentagon-provided jet.
Who's to get the tab?
That's right: You.
The speaker has decided that she needs a personal shuttle between Washington, D.C., and her home out on the Left Coast.
Historically, House speakers flew commercial. Then, after 9/11, Speaker Dennis Hastert cited security reasons in switching to a military-provided plane.
But that was a small jet: It sat 12 passengers, with a crew of five.
In contrast, Pelosi is said to want a top-of-the-line, Air Force passenger jet - the military version of the Boeing 757 - which features 42 business-class seats and a 16-member crew, plus a fully enclosed stateroom, entertainment center, private bed and state-of-the-art communications center.
Color us surprised.
We didn't think Pelosi had any use for the military whatsoever.
As for the taxpayers, they stand to get clipped for $300,000 per trip.
For a lady who stands in the first ranks of the "party of the people," she sure eats pretty high on the hog.
Not to mention that such profligate use of jet fuel would make a mockery out of Pelosi's professed political priorities.
This is the same woman who declared last month: "I promise to do everything in my power to achieve energy independence . . . and to stop global warming."
Just two weeks ago, she added, "The science of global warming and its impact is overwhelming and unequivocal." Then she dedicated a select House committee actually to do something about global warming.
Which, if one accepts the current "science of global warming," she certainly is.
She's making it worse.
The conventional view is that emissions of carbon dioxide - a greenhouse gas - are a major factor in warming. And the jet Pelosi is demanding produces more than 10,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per hour - far more than the commuter plane Hastert used.
Gingrich has a point when he says, "It is useful for members, including the speaker, to go through airport security, just like everybody else."
But that's the point: Nancy Pelosi isn't like everybody else.
She's special.
More special than her commitment to ending global warming - which turns out to be just so much hot air.

Bush was called a chimp/ape all the time and there were tons of cartoons depicting him as such. No one had a problem with that, they understood that it was because he was an ass, and knew they weren't talking about his whole race. So now because Obama is half black, he is protected from such things, because with him it doesn't mean he's an ass, it means the person that said it is racist? Absolutely ridiculous. It just goes to show that the true racists are not the ones that said it, it's the ones that took offense because they automatically associate black people with monkeys. I'm also sure that some of the people complaining were not offended at all and were just looking for any reason to make a scene, and run their mouths.

And so was Madelyn Dunham, Obama's grandmother: :iceslolan

By Dan Nakaso, USA TODAY
HONOLULU — Barack Obama's trailblazing effort to become the nation's first black president has a family precedent.
Madelyn Dunham, Obama's grandmother, blazed a feminist trail in Hawaii banking circles in the late 1960s and early 1970s and rose to become one of the Bank of Hawaii's first female vice presidents.
Durham, now 85 and living in Honolulu along with her granddaughter and Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, had two obstacles to overcome in Hawaii at the time — being a woman and being part of the state's white minority.
"Was she ambitious? She had to be to become a vice president," said Clifford Y.J. Kong, 82, who was a senior credit officer at the bank at the time. "She was a top-notch executive to get appointed. It was a tough world."
Obama and Soetoro-Ng lived with their grandparents Stanley and Madelyn Dunham, and later with their mother, Ann Dunham, in 1970s Honolulu, where white people were routinely the target of discrimination.
Sam Slom, a Bank of Hawaii economist then, who is now a Republican state senator in Hawaii, recalls that as a part of the white — or "haole" — minority in Hawaii, he would regularly see housing ads that made no effort to hide racial preferences. He says he remembers ads that read, "No haoles" or "AJAs (Americans of Japanese ancestry) Only" or "No Japanese."
"That's the way it was," Slom said. "Did people talk about race? We had local jokes … like that 'pake' (Chinese) guy or the 'yobo' (Korean) who did this or that. I certainly got my share of haole jokes."http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2007-03/28648146.jpg
Dunham was born Madelyn Payne in Peru, Kan., on Oct. 26, 1922. When she was 3 years old, Payne's family moved to Augusta, Kan., where young Madelyn was raised, Soetoro-Ng said. She married Stanley Armour Dunham in 1940. Madelyn Dunham attended college at the University of Washington before becoming an aircraft inspector for Boeing during World War II.
After the war, she attended UC-Berkeley, worked various jobs, then came to the Islands, where she joined the Bank of Hawaii in 1960.www.democraticunderground.com (http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphics/2007/01/27/obama/obama4.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php%3Faz%3Dview_all%26address%3D132x542233 1&h=420&w=400&sz=44&tbnid=3POKsWd0OwkLPM::&tbnh=125&tbnw=119&prev=/images%3Fq%3DStanley%2BAnn%2BDunham&hl=en&usg=__7n_PhbRvxXOlNkWP1JTJYoukjKc=&ei=0tSqSb6bHYG4twfti9XYDw&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=7&ct=image&cd=1)

WHAT!? This whole time I thought you were a well educated white person. You lied to me! LIED!!!!!
Anyway, you know what gets me? How people want to ban words because they're "bad" to use. They're just words.
Take for example nigger. What is the meaning of it? A stupid person or low class. It was used so much for blacks that now when we say nigger we think slang for black people.
Now, what would happen if the term "idiot" was used against blacks instead of nigger? Today would there be PFBIW groups? People For the Banning of the I Word?
Child 1: You're stupid!
Child 2: You're a nigger!
Child 1: Oh yeah you're an idiot!
Child 2: MMMMMM THAT'S RACIST!
The same could be said about what was discussed in this thread about apes or monkeys. Soon will the definition change to where we can't use those words, not even at Zoos? If Mr. Jackson has his way, yes.
So am I a racist? No, I hate all races equally (maybe New Zealand a little more).

Anyway, you know what gets me? How people want to ban words because they're "bad" to use. They're just words.
:werd:
No question the word nigger was a very degrading and derogatory word from long ago and not so long ago. I think anybody with any decency gets that. That's fine; no problem. However, blacks keep slinging that word all over hell and back, saturating their culture and entertainment with it, but still cry hurt when somebody outside their group uses it.
I call BS. If it's that bad a word that it sets their shorts on fire and makes them want to burn whole cities down, then maybe they ought to stop using it as well.
Just a thought. :dunno:
As for Obama: I think he's just trying to keep a game face and not tip his hand. I don't think he really gives a rip about any of this, as long as his agenda succeeds. He probably does wish some of his admin people would keep a lower profile on the hot button issues, though. Everybody's paying attention to everything they do.

My point in all of this is that we now have a black president. They can no longer whine that the white man keepin' dem down. That's all. Crimony....how can it be said anymore?

As long as people like Holden and Sharpton are willing to take up their side and yell racism, some black people will continue to use "oppression" as an excuse to feel sorry for themselves.
