MY 95 Suburban has developed an annoying habit of not starting. I get turn the key and nothing, nadda, zip, zero. I wiggle the ignition switch and get a buzzing sound when turning the key, I also notice that the dome light is very dim while all of this is going on. If I turn the key to the run position and cycle the shifter up and down it will eventually start, but when it does the seatbelt light, the abs light and the airbag light flash on and off and the engine runs a little rough, the transmission does not want to shift properly, after you drive a few hundred feet the light all go back to normal and the truck runs as it should. Now obviously I think it is in the ignition switch but I would like to be sure before I tear into it, recently unemployed due the the depression, any suggestions. By the way the battery tests fine and none of the original wiring has been touched, I bought it new and haas been well cared for, 205000 miles and only a couple of timing chains, some gaskets, a couple of mufflers and regular maintenance, probably the best vehicle I have ever owned.

That is a tough call.

Something is losing good connection.

Get a good wiring diagram and a good volt ohm/meter.
Check it when it is acting up.
Start at battery cables and ends and check for good grounds and connections and voltage.
And then work on to fuse box and to ign switch and threw neutral safety switch and onto starter.

Make sure good voltage and connection all threw the system and do not forget grounds.
Good Luck

I am the biggest dummy on the planet, turns out I had a slight bit of corrosion on the battery cables, cleaned them up and voila, no more issues. Thanks for the response.
