So I am in love with the 2005 WRX sti but I've been looking around and heard many different things like 2.5, or RS, is it different from sti? What do these mean? And I'm thinking about buying a used one, any suggestion? Or anything I should know/aware of?

I own an 04 Forester currently, and I recently sold my 04 2.5rs. The car pictured I destroyed with an encouter with an 18 wheeler.
2.5rs 165hp nonturbo
wrx 225hp turbo
wrxsti 300hp turbo
I enjoyed my 2.5rs, I raced my friends WRX until the smell of my burnt clutch became overwhelming. Until 60 mph I could hang within two car links. After 60 mph I didn't have a chance.
The WRX is a middle of the road car, but it has lots of tuner upgrades to buy. This alone makes the car a lot of fun.
The STI is an amazing machine that is very fast until you encounter 300hp muscle on a a straightaway. However, you can always out corner and out turn any of those cars.
Insurance is an issue if you are under 25, so keep that in mind when purchasing. If you buy an RS do not attempt to turbo it. You would be better off simply buying the WRX.
