Blend door removal?

Ok, I posted a few weeks ago about a possible blend door actuator problem. I pulled the actuator and after disassembling it, there was nothing that I could see visually wrong with it (broken gears, teeth missing, etc.) Now I am assuming that it is the blend door itself (maybe broken off hinges?). Its not the thermostat and I dont think its the heater core because there has been no leaks of any kind coming from the vehicle anywhere.
I bought this van super cheap and I am just looking for a quick fix to make the heat work so my family doesn't freeze to death. Is there a way I can "rig" the blend door so that it will allow heat through? Keep in mind that the AC is already beyond repairing and it will never be switched to the "cool" setting on the temp selector, therefore I have not put the blend door actuator back on. A permanent heat setting is just fine with me :2cents:
