need info for 04' f-250 front diff

I'm looking at buying a 2004 f-250, or a Chevy k2500. I'm going to be using the truck for plowing and i might lift it too. i would prefer to have a solid front axle and I'm not sure if the ford comes with it, also would the ford be cheaper to lift then the Chevy. if someone would have a GOOD web site with the info i would appreciate it.
